JUNE 1st, 2019
DCR Borderland State Park, North Easton MA
HikeMF is an organization that was founded in 2014 to raise funds for research into Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs). We sponsored our first hike in 2015. Our generous donors and hikers have donated more than $140,000.
This year, our hike will take place on June 1st, 2019 at DCR Borderland State Park in North Easton, MA. Check-in begins at 9:00am. We will hike along an easy 2.9 mile unpaved carriage road.
HikeMF is a fun filled day with a keynote speaker, food and raffles. It is appropriate for all ages, so bring your friends and family!
THERE IS NO CURE!
MPNs are a group of rare blood cancers that include Essential Thrombocythemia (ET), Polycythemia Vera (PV) and Myelofibrosis (MF). There are limited research funds for MPNs. HikeMF was formed to be proactive and support organizations and researchers in their quest for a cure and viable treatments for MPNs.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE FIND A CURE!
There are many inspirational people living with MPNs. Some are trailblazers who have entered a drug trial with the hope that it will be the cure or treatment desperately needed, some are out of hope and saying their goodbyes and some are in the watch and wait stage, with no treatments or trials available. All are hoping for a cure!
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
This quote from fellow MPN patient, Mary Cotter sums up living with an MPN.
“I know how variable and unpredictable this road can be. Hiking is a great metaphor for our MPN journey. Some trails are long wide and indolent, while others are short and rocky. Our MPN ‘weather’ can be sunny and glorious but turn treacherous without warning.”
It was because of this uncertainty and no cure on the horizon that HikeMF was formed. We hike to advance research, we hike in support of those living with an MPN and we hike in memory of those who are no longer with us. We at HikeMF will continue hiking until a cure is found.
DON’T DELAY….DONATE TODAY!
All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support in helping to advance MPN research.
With much appreciation and many thanks!
